This Desert Inclusive Tour can be tailored to your needs if you want to extend your trip or continue on to Fes, the Imperial City. It’s excellent if you want to combine your own planned trip to Morocco with an organized Desert Tour that departs from your hotel in Marrakech and returns to your hotel in Marrakech or Fes. Please keep in mind that the Chebbi Dunes and Desert Camps can get very busy during the high holiday seasons of Spring, Autumn, and Winter.
Our brisk ‘Flying Carpet To The Desert’ allows anyone short on time to start on a road journey across Morocco and into the Sahara. That said, in our opinion and experience, the more time you have to commit to this road journey, the better.
The journey from Marrakech, as well as the Dades Valley and Erg Chebbi Saharan region, is so stunning and full of unique sights and experiences that it ought to be taken at a slower pace to fully appreciate the wonderful aspects of the shifting landscape and the Sahara’s distinctiveness.
You travel through the High Atlas Mountains and the iconic Tichka Pass to Skoura Palm Oases, then through the Kasbah-lined Dades Valley to Todra Gorge before arriving in the Saharan village of Merzouga for an overnight stay at one of Erg Chebbi’s Desert Camps, which includes good-natured Saharan hospitality, short camel treks, and optional informal sandboarding at the base of the towing dune sets.
This thoughtful journey includes atmospheric lodgings, magnificent High Atlas Mountainscapes, visits to historic Kasbahs, camel rides in two different places, the enormous Todra Gorge, and enjoyment in one of the world’s most distinctive settings, the Sahara.
